Description
Using established methodologies and our experience of working with students to inform curriculum re-development we will investigate and integrate student, staff and employed graduate knowledge and understanding of the key aspects of our programmes of study which enhance graduate employability. Through this investigation we will identify key skills and knowledge elements which, with hind-sight, our recent alumni see as having had the greatest value in enabling them to secure work and then to succeed in work. We will also understand the perception of current students and their teachers to these elements of our provision.
The intention is that this will lead towards the redevelopment of the curriculum to increase student engagement and enhance graduate employability. Insights gained from this study will be disseminated to the wider HE community. An important outcome of the project will be the development of a self sustaining online interaction between recent alumni and current second year students with the intention that an authentic expression of hind-sight might inform students in a way that tutors are not able to, and which will therefore enable students to engage with aspects of their learning in a way which ultimately enhances their employability.
