Clustering and classification methods for biologists: a web resource
DescriptionClustering and classification techniques are important across the whole of biology, from bioinformatics to ecology. Despite their importance there are few dedicated teaching materials in this area. This project uses electronic media to provide a student-friendly, generic framework that will, in addition to helping in the selection and interpretation of analyses, enable users to recognise the assumptions and constraints implicit in all such techniques. Alan's project produced a student-friendly (Masters-level) resource that will aid users in the selection and interpretation of statistical analyses, as well as enabling them to recognise the assumptions and constraints implicit in each technique. He would welcome comments on the resource; please send any feedback directly to Alan at A.Fielding@mmu.ac.uk Outcomes and downloads
