Description

The developing technology of Personal Response Systems (PRS) provides an opportunity to increase student-lecturer communication, that has been in recognisable decline in lectures due to the continuing growth in student backgrounds and the range of ability and subject knowledge. The aims of the project are to use PRS and evaluate it's effectiveness in:

  1. increasing engagement of the diverse student population with lecture material;
  2. providing immediate feedback systems to help lecturers adjust teaching to better match students learning and knowledge;
  3. providing immediate targeted assessment and feedback to students; and
  4. monitoring and improving attendance to support student achievement

Furthermore, the project will identify pedagogically sound teaching systems for employing the new technology within the Bioscience in order to implement effective departmental wide use of PRS.
