Enterprise surveyThe Centre for Bioscience is collaborating with the National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship (NGCE) to gather data on how much enterprise and entrepreneurship teaching and support is available to bioscience students. Thank you to those who completed our short questionnaire. You can download a report of our survey findings written by our Director, Ian Hughes.Enterprise audit toolThis audit tool is specifically directed towards helping staff in the identification and enhancement of enterprise elements within a degree programme. Using this will enable you to verify the many aspects of enterprise already addressed in your degree programme and will allow activities to be identified, clarified and badged as enterprise to students. The audit makes clear the range of activities which contribute to the issue and may reassure colleagues that quite a lot of work may already be developed in the area; though perhaps not explicitly identified as being directed toward the development of enterprise in graduates. Download the enterprise audit. Enterprise skills matrixThe purpose of this enterprise matrix is to:
It would normally be supplied to students as part of their course handout for the year and could be discussed during the personal tutorials sessions and/or within PDP. The aim was to identify commonalities and differences in interpretations/definitions of enterprise and entrepreneurship, strategies for and examples of embedding practice, and information about what learning and teaching resources exist and are still needed. Feedback regarding the event was very positive with the workshop being both informative and thought provoking for participants, with the cross-discipline element to the event seen as a key contributor to its success.
