Dunstaffnage Marine Laboratory, Oban
Dunstaffnage Marine Laboratory "is located close to both sheltered and exposed shores, open water and sea-loch environments and can provide both shore-based and ship-based laboratory bench space for teaching purposes. On shore, a large teaching laboratory can provide bench space for up to 40 students.".
Field Studies Council
The Field Studies Council has a number of centres throughout the UK.
Newcastle University's Dove Marine Laboratory
The Dove Marine Laboratory is located at Cullercoats, North Shields, Tyne and Wear. Full details of the facilities available, and contact information are available from their website.
Plas Caerdeon Outdoor Education Centre, Barmouth, North Wales
A former Victorian mansion house, owned by Liverpool Hope University College. The centre is set in twenty aces of woodland within Snowdonia National Park, overlooking the Mawddach estuary in North Wales. University Marine Biological Station, Millport (UMBSM)
The station is located at Millport, Isle of Cumbrae, Scotland, and is recognised as the National Facility for Marine Biology Fieldwork Teaching. University Marine Biological Station, Millport, "provides marine biological facilities and host marine biology and ecology courses for some 25 other UK Universities or Colleges which either lack their own marine station, or which, in the case of a few, wish to access more varied and species rich marine environments".
Arle Lodge Field Centre on the island of Mull
This Field study centre is centrally located on the west coast of the Scottish island of Mull. The Centre has been used by various organisations for field study purposes and offers a free 2 night stay for 2 persons, to see how the lodge might suit an organisations needs.
