FAQs - StudentsSadly the UK Centre for Bioscience has now closed and our resources no longer updated. The text below is retained to highlight some of the many services and support we provided free of charge. To view each topic section simply click on the appropriate topic heading.
I have a disabled student on my course this year, where can I find out more about supporting them?Have a look at the Disability and Accessible curricula section of the Centre for Bioscience website. These pages are intended to provide an introduction to making your curricula accessible to all and supporting disabled students as well as information about the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and Special Educational Needs Disability Act (SENDA). The pages also contain links to external resources and a number of organisations (for example TechDis) who can provide specialised assistance. Your institution should also have a disabilities service and they should be able to help you ensure that the specific requirements of your student are met. In addition, speak to the student, they will be aware of things that may cause them difficulties and ways you may be able to support them.
