Bioscience Departmental ShowcaseDepartment of Biological Sciences, University of Hull
Centre Rep: Dr Graham ScottOur department is currently focusing on widening participation through a pre-certificate stage that is fully integrated into our mainstream undergraduate teaching and on expanding provision through the development of both conventional taught postgraduate courses and innovative undergraduate masters programmes. These programmes are being developed in the context of our strengths in biomedical science (we deliver a flagship co-terminus MBiomed. Sci.); in evolutionary biology; in pure and applied ecology; and functional biology. We are particularly proud of the diversity of assessment tasks undertaken by students, in our use of workplace and problem based learning and in our development of student managed learning.
Staff awarded a University Teaching Fellowship in recognition of their commitment to teachingDr Graham Scott (2006)
