The UK Centre for Bioscience Advisory Group
As part of the Centre’s
strategic plan an Advisory Group has been appointed to support the Centre
in meeting its objectives. The Advisory Group has a membership drawn from
representatives of Heads of Departments from the two QAA units, learned
societies, teaching staff, industry, staff development, graduate employers,
the Centre's Director, Co-Director and other Centre staff. The Advisory Group
meet twice yearly.
The role of the Advisory Group is to advise and support the Centre in
both its strategic direction and operational activities. Because members
are drawn from different academic subject areas, different roles within
higher education and representatives from industry they provide valuable
advice which supports the Centre in its aims to :
- be the accepted information & advice resource for all staff involved
in UK HE learning, teaching and assessment
- promote, disseminate & record good and innovative L&T practices
in bioscience … & to encourage the adoption of innovative
practice
- ensure that HE staff within the bioscience community are aware of
the work of the Centre
Terms of reference
- to support the Centre in meeting its objectives
- to ensure a comprehensive coverage of the bioscience subject area
- to oversee and review the Centre’s activities
- to ensure a good balance between C&IT and other issues
- to monitor and advise on the allocation of Teaching Development Fund
grants
