About us

For 11 years the UK Centre for Bioscience supported a large network of learning and teaching practitioners involved in HE bioscience throughout the UK. During that time we funded 70 projects, ran over 100 events, produced numerous resources and a provided a large number of opportunities to network with bioscience learning and teaching practitioners from a variety of institutions and roles. We initiated, gathered and disseminated examples of good practice in learning, teaching and assessment, developed and successfully implemented by bioscientists across the UK.
 
Sadly in November 2010 the Higher Education Academy announced the withdrawal of funding for the subject centres. The UK Centre for Bioscience closed in December 2011.
